1. Overview

Dataout ("we", "our", or "us") provides managed analytics pipelines, data modeling, and reporting infrastructure for e-commerce merchants operating on platforms including Shopify and Amazon. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, process, isolate, and protect merchant and operational data.

2. Data We Collect and Process

We strictly collect data necessary to generate operational dashboards and financial reconciliations:

• Transactional records: Order IDs, line items, quantities, gross sales, shipping fees, tax lines, refunds, and adjustments.
• Payment and settlement records: Shopify Payments balance transactions, payout schedules, processor fees, chargebacks, and holds.
• Product and catalog data: SKUs, product variants, and titles.
• Supplier cost inputs: Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) spreadsheets or CSVs provided directly by the merchant.
• Merchant contact data: Names, business email addresses, and communication logs for administrative and support purposes.

We do not collect customer credit card numbers, payment instruments, or customer end-user passwords.

3. Platform Access and Credentials

Dataout accesses merchant platforms solely via restricted, read-only API tokens or scoped partner collaborations. We never request or require write permissions that allow modifying store state, processing orders, altering inventory, or initiating financial disbursements.

4. Purpose of Processing

All ingested data is processed solely to provide reporting services to the merchant, including net sales calculations, SKU-level margin analysis against supplier invoices, and payout reconciliation tying payment batches to bank deposits.

5. Data Isolation and Security

Merchant data is stored in isolated tenant schemas. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3, and data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 standard encryption. Access to production data stores is restricted to authorized operations personnel under multi-factor authentication.

6. Zero Data Monetization or Sharing

We do not sell, rent, license, or share merchant data or underlying customer data with third-party advertisers, data aggregators, or unauthorized third parties.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Tenant data is maintained throughout the active service term. Upon service termination or upon written request, all client-specific data, staging schemas, and database backups are permanently expunged within 30 business days.
